Report on State Conference
Hello my lovely BPWEV sisters,
I wanted to give you a quick update on the State Conference which ended Sunday, June 20 at the Saddlebrook Resort in Wesley Chapel.
First and foremost, BPWEV was the winner of 4 State Awards!
They were in the categories of:
- Leadership Award (Best Leadership Programs and Activities) - Esther Bird, Chair
- Public Relations Award (Best Public Relations Plan) - Karin Drury, Chair
- Best Membership Management Award (Retention, Growth and Development 21-39 Members) - Debra Straw, Chair
- Individual Award - Membership Recruitment Award (Plus 5 Recognition) - Morina Chmielak
To say that I'm proud of our Board and membership is an understatement. Our LO is truly a sisterhood who work hard, support each other and challenge one another to be the best we can be.
The speakers at the conference were motivational, thought provoking and inspirational. Topics included the art of conflict resolution, how to have unshakeable confidence, how to read a budget, creating future leaders, the ability to influence others, gender and racial equity
and women in transition, among others.
The following BPW/FL Committees need members (BPWEV members are encouraged to apply!) Bylaws, Membership, Public Policy, Leadership Chair is open, Nominating Chair is open. We at BPWEV have an abundance of talent, please consider volunteering to serve on the State level.
Thank you to Esther Bird, Debra Straw and Cynthia Fredricks for attending the State conference with me. Your support and friendship is truly appreciated!
Our next State Conference will take place on May 19-22, 2022. It will be held again at the Saddlebrook Resort in Wesley Chapel (1.5 hr. drive from Venice). Mark your calendars now, attend the conference and return reenergized!
