PRESIDENT’S REPORT – DECEMBER, 2021
By: Esther Bird
It’s hard to believe that the holiday season is upon us. From mid-November to early January, the lives of everyone seem to be busier and full of celebratory thoughts. Parties, shopping, visits from loved ones, and preparing the feasts are foremost in all our minds.
This is the time of year when I always find myself reflecting on the past months and I think about how I’ve spent my time. Have I made any progress? Did I challenge myself? Have I experienced some personal growth? Did I make a positive difference in my community? I always hope to answer these questions with the answer “yes”.
The year 2021 was challenging for me and for many others. I can’t help but reflect back on the personal challenges I’ve faced. I but look back with some pride at the fact that I pushed myself to overcome the challenges and I didn’t give up! During difficult times I often say to myself – “tough times don’t last, but tough women do”!!!
But, alas, let’s not look back, let’s look forward to the future months. Positive things are worth dwelling on and I see many positive things to celebrate and look forward to.
Our local organization has been through a challenge, but we are still going strong and we will survive and thrive!!! My BPWEV sisters are wonderful women who help when they are needed and are always there for one another in times of celebration and times of challenge. That’s what being a strong, independent and caring woman is all about.
Our 2022 events are scheduled and we are ready to take on the challenges of planning and raising money to give back to our community. I predict that 2022 will be the best year yet for our local organization. Our wonderful members are a strong team and I believe that any situations that come along, we will overcome them together!!!
