Welcome to September

There are many important National days celebrated in September. They include Labor Day, Stand Up to Cancer Day, World Suicide Prevention Day, Yom Kippur, Gold Star Mother’s and Family Day among many others. None are as significant to me as remembering 9/11/2001. Twenty years ago, our country suffered the worse attack in history. Almost 3,000 were killed in NYC, Pennsylvania and Washington, DC due to the four coordinated terrorist attacks by the Islamist terrorist group al-Qaeda. Hundreds of people who survived the attack have since passed due to the toxins they were exposed to during and after September 11, 2001. Those of us who lived in or near NYC, had friends or relatives who lost loved ones, our lives will never be the same. We will forever be grateful to all the first responders including the police and fire departments, clergy and the hundreds who ran to help those in need. To those still suffering from the aftereffects of that dreadful day, know that you are not forgotten. We will never forget!
